Like everyone else I know, I started a food blog. Except this food blog is about baking, and baking delicious things, and learning to bake more delicious things. I won’t deny that I’ve created this primarily for use as a recipe index for myself, but it’s also a nice way to flaunt some of the delicious things that come out of our teeny kitchen.

Winter in Boston has been an incredible disappointment. Even when we have had snow, it doesn’t stick to the ground! Arg! Then again, Vermont hasn’t fared all that well either, and that’s definitely no good. However, since winter (pretty much) never really happened, I’m already jumping ahead and gearing up for spring. I’m starting to plan what we will be growing this year on our teeny tiny Brookline porch, and I have just ordered a Bokashi Bin for composting!

I’m really excited to start using it and by the time we are able to start planting, I will hopefully have some deliciously rich compost to add to the mix! Hurrah!

Harvard, Ning, and UMB

The spring semester at 53 Church Street has begun, and it is off to a great start! I’m learning lots of new teaching techniques at UMass Boston, including the incorporation of Ning into existing teaching. Overall, I’m still beyond excited for the semester and for all the learning going on!

Now if only we could get some snow… THEN I’d be an even happier lady!

Exciting news! I have recently joined the Women in Film and Video Board of Directors! I am very excited to be able to contribute to the progress of such a wonderful organization, and hope to be able to make a difference.

In other news, it’s raining out, despite being January in New England, and I am SERIOUSLY missing the snow. Additionally, my second semester of grad school starts tomorrow and I am officially a full time student.

A New Year!

I hope the New Year has brought much joy and maybe even some inspiration and productivity to everyone! I myself have some big, life-changing plans in the works for this year, but they won’t be discussed until they’ve actually been solidified.

Christmas in Vermont was wonderful, and I did get a winter wonderland for Christmas Day, even if it was just a dusting. However, it looks like I missed the big stuff, as my Mom sent me a picture this morning of the view from her front steps looking down to the driveway.

2 feet in the Champlain Valley! Ridiculous!

In other news, with my first semester of grad school at UMass behind me, I’m looking forward to “overloading” with 3 courses in the spring. 2 of these courses will be online – and they are about creating online teaching. Talk about meta. Hopefully it will also be awesome. If it’s anything like the last semester, it will be a blast!

finally, an update

A lot has happened since I graduated from Emerson! We have now completed post production on Broadside (check out the website!) and are working on a series of web shorts, or short documentaries, that will be posted periodically on the Broadside page. It’s really exciting to put together segments of footage that we weren’t able to keep in the final cut and show off more of the incredible work that went into the creation of Broadside.

Our Video Production course at Harvard Extension is going swimmingly, with an excellent group of very motivated people, but wrapping up incredibly soon! Harvard has changed its semester schedule so that the fall semester no longer continues after winter break, and therefore our sessions have been a bit longer but the semester ends before Thanksgiving. This new schedule will definitely take some getting used to!

In other news, Docema headquarters has relocated to Andover, Massachusetts, and I have relocated to Allston, Massachusetts, where I am sharing space with the lovely Kate Raisz of 42°N Films. And finally, a dog friendly building! Einstein is beyond thrilled to have another place for daytime naps.
